Taco Catering and the Wedding Experience

The celebrations of love: From engagement parties through rehearsals and receptions and anniversaries, tacos might be the best menu choice and party theme.

Scientists tell us no foods can lay full claim to being aphrodisiacs. Sure, there are some shellfish (e.g., oysters) that have both a sensuous texture and might boost testosterone levels in men (women too – but that’s too complex a topic to cover in a food blog). And arguably a spicy dish simply wakes up the senses and perhaps makes the heart beat faster.

But most of this doesn’t explain why wedding taco catering seems to be on the rise. The ease of hiring a caterer that specializes in those easy hand-held concoctions, all served from a self-contained cart-kitchen, explains the pragmatic appeal.

But the versatility of what actually goes into a taco might still make tacos the food of love. Given the decidedly gourmet trends in tacos, it’s easy to see how certain fabled ingredients might put guests in the mood and perhaps spark new romances. According to food bloggers, each of the following ingredients have some love-vibe value: garlic, basil, avocado, asparagus, arugula, bacon, cheese, chili pepper, lobster, mushrooms, saffron, salmon, scallops, seaweed, shrimp, tarragon, tomato, tuna and turkey.

It’s not hard to imagine one or several mobile taco carts at the actual wedding reception or the smaller party in its constellation.

Engagement party – When the news is fresh about someone popping the question, the casual excitement amongst friends couldn’t be more authentic. Taco cart catering might include napkin rings fashioned with sparkly rhinestones.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties – Even if you take it to Vegas there likely will be tacos at some part of the weekend. This is because tacos and festive themed drinks are now featured in some of the finest restaurants.

Rehearsal dinner – With so many checklists cluttering the busy bride’s and groom’s lives, the simplest thing is to hire mobile taco cart caterers. They bring the food, the service ware and can even supply the bar set-up and staff.

The wedding reception – Formal receptions might include tacos for the midnight meal, but many, many couples are opting for something a little less fussy overall and a lot more fun. Be it a wedding on a beach, in a garden, that cute summer cottage or your own backyard, a round of shrimp tacos from a wedding taco cart with margaritas can launch a beautiful event and a lifetime as well.

Post-wedding brunch – Breakfast tacos are de rigueur when families and friends arise from the night-before celebrations.

As the years pile on, sometimes kids get added to the mix. Taco-themed parties (think wedding anniversaries) can’t be beat – and perhaps bring back memories of the day where love found its best meal.
